Responsibilities

Axway Dublin is looking for an innovative and enthusiastic solutions engineer to join R&D with a focus on solutions design & architect, deployment automation and tooling, and performance testing to ensure the solution deployment process and performance is robust, seamless and performant for our on-premise customers and cloud platforms.  We are seeking an experienced operations and software solutions engineer with an understanding of modern deployments challenges on diverse platforms and product performance considerations to lead initiatives. This is a great opportunity to work with a diverse group of people from different functions, grow professionally and learn new technologies.

 


Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of talented engineers to design and automate deployments to various supported architectures (in the Cloud and on-premise) with various orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Swarm, Openshift).

  • Contribute to product design and technology selection to drive quality, performance and optimise user experience.

  • Design and champion best practices and tools for deploying to existing supported platforms and proof of concept ones.

  • Engage with cross functional teams and contribute to and/or directly solve complex deployment, performance and scalability issues (customer and development challenges).

  • Work with R&D to collaborate on new features to enhance the 0-1 fast objective.

  • Lead team initiatives

Qualifications

  •  

    • 5+ years hands on commercial software development / coding experience.
    • Expertise in deploying, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
    • Systems administration and configuration knowledge and experience – you must know your way round both Linux.
    • Skilled in scripting Bash Python and Ruby
    • Experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet or Ansible is essential
    • Experience with containers and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, Docker Swarm and Cloud Foundry highly desirable.
    • Experience with Cloud providers like AWS and Azure
    • Experience with build and deployment best practices including Jenkins or other CI tools to build applications in a Linux environment
    • Experience with performance testing
    • Experience using source version control systems: Git/SVN
    • You must have excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

     

    Beneficial but not mandatory

     

    • Understanding of technologies/protocols such as REST API’s, OAuth, API Keys

    • Experience with API testing tools

    • Experience designing and developing test frameworks and tools. Experience automating regression testing, and experience load and stress testing

    • Good working knowledge of OpenSSL, TLS, HTTPS

    • Knowledge of tools such as Wireshark, Postman, JMeter

    • Understanding of TCP/IP networks
