Responsibilities

A Technical Pre-Sales is responsible for assisting the sales team with in depth technical knowledge of the company’s product, spotting opportunities and mapping business benefits to features and functions. As a Technical Presales Consultant you will also responsible for demonstrating the product capabilities to prospective Axway customers.

 

The job holder will be expected to perform the following:

  • Engage with prospective customers during the sales process to understand their goals and critical business issues and then to position how the company will aid in addressing these areas

  • Provide technical demonstrations of the company’s capabilities to both group and individual audiences

  • Be a technical resource to sales representatives to determine solutions to questions that cannot easily be answered by them

  • Prepare documented responses to RFIs on opportunities that require them

  • Correspond and collaborate with various team members to produce best customer advice

  • Construct Proof-of-Concept demonstrations to prospective customers when needed

  • Create and maintain sample demonstration data in company, especially after each release, to support our evolving value propositions

  • Provide training to the sales team on new product enhancements as they become available

  • Work in a manner that provides accountability and visibility on all active tasks
  • Desire to learn and train to become a Presales. Spending up to 80% of your time preparing for that 20% of time when you’re in front of the customer

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of successful developer and some customer support experience

  • Experience determining customer requirements and creating functional specifications

  • Candidate must be self-motivated, detail minded, organized and pursue excellence on all tasks

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to solve problems using a creative and logical mind set

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related Engineering subjects

  • Good experience with programming (script shell, curl, Perl, Java, JavaScript) and visual development environments such as, Eclipse

  • Good experience with Databases (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL) and with API Rest

  • Exchange file system proven experience

  • Ability to articulate the value of technical capabilities to different audiences
