Overview

You will be both a hands-on contributor and Engineering manager for the Java Engineering team, reporting to the Director of Engineering. This engineering team is responsible for a growing suite of Linux Java based components that support and extend the capabilities of the Syncplicity SaaS offering including micro-services, on-premises connectors and tools.

Responsibilities

As the technical manager of this team you will be responsible for the on-time, high quality delivery of our Java components, leading a variety of large and small projects to implement the most complex new enhancements and solve the toughest problems. You will be the direct manager for a team of Java developers and quality engineer including recruiting, hiring and performance management. Everything from robust design principles to automated testing, deployment and configuration using the latest industry technologies and keeping a crisp definition of done will be your charter.

 

Required Experience

  • Commercial experience with Java 8 and enterprise-grade SaaS product delivery of 30K lines of code or larger.
  • Practical experience with Junit/testNG, Jacoco, Gatling/Jmeter, mocking components, static analysis, TDD or the equivalent.
  • Track record of managing high-quality product and features through the software project lifecycle (build, test and deploy).
  • Proven in-depth knowledge of Linux, networking and OO programming.
  • Working understanding of Agile scrum development.
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or higher in CS, EE or related field of study
  • 3+ years as architect or technical lead and 8+ years’ experience as a Java developer
