Senior Unix/Windows System Engineer


The Senior Unix/Windows System Engineer is responsible for the global and local maintenance and operation of Axway’s Server’s.


This position works closely with the Manager of the Global Server Team and the other staff in the IT department on study and deployment of Linux and Unix platforms (physical and virtual), the corresponding storage infrastructure and base software stack (OS, web/application server, database, etc.); monitoring and administration of shared storage (NAS/SAN) and virtualization infrastructure; deployment of supervision and management tools related to these platforms (including scripting) and resolution of support cases on these platforms.


You should meet the following requirements:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in system/storage administration, including 3 to 5 in a similar context (multiple sites/countries)
  • Fluent in English
  • Technical environment: RedHat Linux, Suse Linux, AIX, Solaris, HP-UX, Oracle and MySQL RDBMS, VMware vSphere, NAS/SAN NetApp, shell/Perl scripting, Dell servers and storage, Symantec NetBackup
  • Knowledge of traditional telephony infrastructure would be appreciated
  • Excellent team working abilities (including remotely)
  • Excellent personal organization & communication skills
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel in Europe & USA


The following additional skills will be an advantage:

  • Windows system administration skills
  • University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
